Aim & Objectives

To improve the health of pregnant women, lactating mothers and infants using Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Siddha Medical kit at Government Health care Centres of Tamil Nadu.

  • To increase the number of normal vaginal deliveries at Government health care centres of Tamil Nadu, by introducing Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Siddha Medical Kit among pregnant women.
  • To increase the number of normal birth weight babies at Government health care centres of Tamil Nadu, by introducing Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Siddha Medical Kit among pregnant women.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Improvement in the health of pregnant women, lactating mothers and infants who use “MAGAPERU SANJEEVI ” a  MCH Siddha medical kit at government health care centres in Tamil Nadu.
  • Increase in the number of child births with normal body weight who are delivered at government health care centres

School Health Programme

Ilam Thalir Thittam:

‘Ilam Thalir’ scheme will be a promising scheme for improving physical, mental and social well-being among the adolescent students in Government High and Higher Secondary Schools of 38 Districts of Tamil Nadu by Primary Health Care Centre Siddha doctors through Siddha Medicines namely.

  1. Vallarin Tablet
  2. Annabedhi Chendhuram Tablet
  3. Nellikai Lehiyam
  4. Femicure Syrup
  5. Kumari Lehiyam


SAAP 2019-2020:

With reference to the Go (2D) No.12, HFW Dept (IM2-2)  Dt:28.01.2020 Rs. 19250000/- (One Crore Ninty Two Lakhs  and Fifty Thousands Rupees Only) is sanctioned towards School Health Programme.

SAAP 2021-2022:

With reference to the Go (2D) No. 21   H&FW(IM2-2) Dept dated .28.03.2022 Rs. 19250000/- (One Crore Ninty Two Lakhs  and Fifty Thousands Rupees Only) is sanctioned towards  School Health Programme.

  • Amount per Block: Rs.50000/-
  • Total Blocks Covered: 385
  • Total No. of Govt. High and Govt. Hr. Sec. Schools Located in 385 Blocks: 2233


Activities to be followed under
‘Siddha School Health Scheme’ in each Block PHC level:

VISITNG TEAM NO. OF VISTS PURPOSE
Visit by Siddha School Health team (AMO + supporting staffs)
4 visits per month

•Distribution of Siddha Medicines  to the students

•Health Education through IEC in the Schools among adolescent students

Visit by DSMO
1 visit per year
Monitoring the activities of Siddha School Health team

  • Block level
  • Basic information from Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) Team
  • Target – school selection (sample) – framed by individual siddha physician
  • 90 days intervention – every month assessment
  • Report – submitted to DSMO – perodically
  • All reports – from DSMO – submitted to DIM&H – periodically
