Tribal Mobile Unit

About

The Tribal Mobile Unit (TMU) of Homoeopathy functioning among the tribal settlement. 

Tribal Mobile Unit is functioning in 2 districts in Tamil Nadu:

  1. Krishnagiri District
  2. Kanyakumari District


Krishnagiri District:

Two Tribal Blocks are covered in Krishnagiri District namely

  1. Kelamangalam Block
  2. Thally Block
  • In Kelamangalam Block, 34 Tribal Villages with total population of 10,149 are covered.
  • In Thally Block 41 Tribal Villages with total population 7,180 are covered. 
  • Tribal AYUSH Mobile Unit is operating in the above areas.      


Kanyakumari District:

Three Tribal Blocks are covered in Kanyakumari District namely

  1. Thiruvattar Block
  2. Melpuram Block
  3. Thovalai Block
  • In Thiruvattar Block 29 Tribal Villages are there and its total population is 4,106 are covered.
  • In Melpuram Block 15 Tribal Villages are there and its total population is 2,040 are covered.
  • In Thovalai Block 4 Tribal Villages are there and its total population is 1,040 are covered.

Tribal AYUSH Mobile Unit is operating in the above areas.

Aim of the Scheme:

  • The main aim of this scheme is to reach the unreach in tribal areas and to give Ayush way of medical treatment to the tribal people.
  • This scheme is functioning from July 2021.
  • To give quality health care through AYUSH System of Medicine for poor and dis-advantaged.


Strategy:

  • Exclusive AYUSH way of treatment to their door steps, for the Tribal people who are living in remote areas without any Medical assistance.
  • Utilizing the services of identified NGO in the Tribal Districts to carry out exclusive out reach activities.
  • Community based convergence of other department such as Tribal Welfare, Forest, Education and NGO’s working in Tribal areas and to do service through AYUSH with proper Co-ordination with these departments for the needy Tribal people.
  • Early detection of Non-communicable diseases and educate them how to lead healthy living apart from treatment aspect.
  • To give proper medical advice and treatment to the Geriatric Tribal population who are neglected and un attended.
  • To teach the Tribal people about the importance of Yoga Practice, and good nutritional food for the purpose of keeping both Physical and mental well being.


Tribal AYUSH Mobile Unit:

Manpower and other Details per Unit:

  1. AYUSH Doctor / Consultant
  2. Pharmacist
  3. Attender
  4. Medicines for Rs.2.00 Lakhs per unit
  5. Van for Mobile Unit (Hiring Basis)


AYUSH Tribal Mobile Unit Service Delivery:

  1. Identify the Tribal Block in the Scheme implementing district, and Total No. of Tribal Villages in the Block.
  2. Camp conducted Village and it’s Total Population.
  3. No. of Patients attended the camp on the camp day of that Village.
  4. Repeat visit to the same Village to be conducted once in fifteen days.
  5. Four camps to be conducted in a week.
  6. IEC activities also to be carried out during the camp.
  7. Identify the predominant cases in the Tribal Village.
  8. Cases which needs to be referred, refer those cases to the near by PHC, GH, where AYUSH facility is available.
