Tamil Nadu Medicinal Plants Board

Tamil Nadu State Medicinal Plants Board was formed and registered on 26.10.2009 (Registration.No.286/2009)

The board is governed by the General body with 11 Members and an Executive Committee of Seven members both under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The Commissioner of Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy Dept. is the Member Secretary/CEO for TNSMPB.

On behalf of the Tamil Nadu State Medicinal Plant Board, District and State Level awareness meetings, seminars and exhibitions are being conducted annually with the financial support of the National Medicinal Plants Board (Nucleus Fund) for the farmers and herbal industry stakeholders to convey the importance of medicinal plants.

Recently TNSMPB have conducted two Awareness Programmes in Dindigul & Thiruvannamalai regarding Ashwagantha Cultivation & Ret listed Medicinal Plants. It was attended by more than 250 Farmers. TNSMPB has participated in Ayurveda and Siddha Day Celebrations by putting up a medicinal plant expo and sale of medicinal plants.

Tamil Nadu State Medicinal Plants Board is in the Process of applying in the School herbal Garden Proposal for every District in Tamil Nadu to National Medicinal Plants Board, to create awareness among School Children regarding Medicinal Plants.

The main objective of this board is to formally submit the project proposals of the government, private and non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) registered as members of this board and get the grant from the Central Government, National Medicinal Plants Board.

தமிழ்நாடு அரசின் சுகாதாரம் மற்றும் குடும்ப நலத்துறையின் முதன்மைச் செயலர் தலைமையில் 11 உறுப்பினர்களைக் கொண்ட பொதுக்குழு மற்றும் ஏழு உறுப்பினர்களைக் கொண்ட செயற்குழு மூலம் இந்த வாரியம் நிர்வகிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்திய மருத்துவம் மற்றும் ஓமியோபதித்துறையின் ஆணையர் அவர்களே இந்த வாரியத்தித்தின் உறுப்பினர்/செயலர் ஆவார்.

தமிழ்நாடு மாநில மூலிகை தாவர வாரியம் சார்பபில், விவசாயிகள் மற்றும் மூலிகை தொழில் பங்குதாரர்களுக்கு, தேசிய மூலிகை தாவர வாரியத்தின் (நியூக்ளியஸ் ஃபண்ட்) நிதியுதவியுடன், மாவட்ட மற்றும் மாநில அளவிலான விழிப்புணர்வு கூட்டங்கள், கருத்தரங்குகள் மற்றும் கண்காட்சிகள் மருத்துவப்பயிர்களின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை தெரிவிக்கும் வகையில் ஆண்டுதோறும் நடத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

சமீபத்தில் தமிழ்நாடு மாநில மூலிகை தாவர வாரியம் சார்பில் அஸ்வகந்தா சாகுபடி மற்றும் அழிந்துவரும் நிலையிலுள்ள மூலிகை தாவரங்கள் குறித்த இரண்டு விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சிகள் திண்டுக்கல் மற்றும் திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டங்களில் நடைபெற்றது. இதில் 250க்கும் மேற்பட்ட விவசாயிகள் பங்கேற்றனர். ஆயுர்வேதா மற்றும் சித்தா தின கொண்டாட்டங்களில் மூலிகை செடிகள் கண்காட்சி மற்றும் விற்பனை இவ்வாரியத்தின் சார்பில் நடத்தப்பட்டது.

தமிழ்நாடு மாநில மூலிகை தாவர வாரியம் பள்ளிக் குழங்தைகளுக்கு மூலிகை தாவரங்கள் குறித்த விழ்ப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்த தேசிய மூலிகை தாவர வாரியத்தின் நிதியுதவியுடன் பள்ளி வளாகத்தில் மூலிகை தோட்டம் அமைக்க ஏற்பாடு செய்கிறது.

இவ்வாரியத்தில் உறுப்பினராக பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட அரசு, தனியார் மற்றும் அரசு சாரா நிறுவனங்களின் (NGO’s) திட்ட முன்மொழிவுகளை (Project proposals) முறையாக சமர்ப்பித்து, மத்திய அரசு – தேசிய மூலிகை தாவர வாரியத்தின் மானியத்தைப் பெறுவதே இவ்வாரியத்தின் முக்கிய நோக்கமாகும்.

Tamil Nadu State Medicinal Plants Board was formed and registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975, vide Registration.No.286/2009 Dt: 26.10.2009 and the Board, is functioning in Anna Hospital Campus Arumbakkam, Chennai 106 (TNSMPB). The Stakeholders of Tamil Nadu engaged in the medicinal plant sector such as Farmers, Growers, Collectors, Govt. Organizations, Private Institutions, NGOs, Traders, Exporters, Manufacturers of Indian Medicines/ Industrialist can avail the financial assistance/subsidy by applying with proper eligible proposal in Medicinal Plants based Projects through State Medicinal Plants Board, Tamil Nadu from National Medicinal Plants Board. Applications are invited for the registration as Member of the State Medicinal Plants Board from Stakeholders engaged in Medicinal Plant Sector, in Tamil Nadu. Application format enclosed can be downloaded. Those who have already involved/participated in medicinal Plants related activities in the Agriculture, Horticulture, Forest Department of Tamil Nadu and other willing persons can also enroll themselves as a Member in the Tamil Nadu State Medicinal Plants Board. Only the registered Members can utilize the financial assistance/subsidy from National Medicinal Plants Board through State Medicinal Plants Board.
